Tomahawk from reindeer is specially developed for the barbecue season. The meat cut is named after the axe used by the Native Americans. It is basically an entrecote with the rib still attached.
It is an exciting and very tasty detail to grill and is guaranteed to be a topic of conversation around the barbecue. In addition, it is very unusual for reindeer meat to be cut in this way.
The tomahawk is a front part meat and can therefore withstand more heat when you grill it. It also has more fat and the more fat the more fried you want it, the fat should melt and be properly cooked. An internal temperature of 60 - 65 degrees will give a perfect medium rare meat.
