Fond bone or venison bone is perfect as a base for a homemade venison stock, the base for a delicious and impressive game sauce!

The bone should not be confused with marrow bone, where the marrow is cooked and eaten. Stock bones are usually a mixture of bones from the neck, for example.

We can highly recommend a relatively simple recipe for venison stock from kokboken Kocken & jägaren. You can also try a slightly more advanced recipe for venison stock from the cookbook Sauces.
